How is it Done?

The first step towards designing a new smile starts with the patient’s expectation and assessing the current smile.

First Appointment:

To capture the current smile our smile experts will take photographs of face along with teeth displayed. Impressions of the teeth are also taken to make the study model. Once we have the required information, we can assess the smile in detail and work towards the end goal we desire.

Second Appointment:

This meeting is after a gap of 2-3 days, during this period a mock-up of a new smile is prepared which will be shared with you. The second appointment generally is more of a visual appointment, you will be able to try your new smile to get the feel of the end result. We assess the trial smile again by taking the series of photographs and it’s only after acceptance of the trial smile both by you and our doctors we decide to move ahead with the procedure.

Once we are sure of the end result we discuss in detail about all the procedures which may help us achieve the result. Pros and cons all the options are discussed and the most suitable treatment plan is prepared.

If our chosen option is Ceramic Veneers, then

Third Appointment:

This meeting is to shape the involved teeth (like a nail bed) and take the impression of the prepared teeth for fabrication of ceramic veneers. A temporary set of veneers made out of acrylic material is cemented onto the prepared teeth. At the end of this appointment all our patients walk home with the newly designed smile in temporary material.

Fourth Appointment:

This is the final session in which we see our patients and bond their new ceramic teeth/veneers (made from the lab).A few photographs of how the final result is looking, and we are good to go.

In some cases where the change is extensive, we may have to incorporate one or two more appointments to simulate the jaw movements outside the patient’s mouth.

Sometimes simple Composite Bondings may also help to improve one’s smile.

If the gaps to be closed are small in nature, then tooth coloured filling material called composite is used to fill in the gaps.

Composite Fillings can be given the exact shape of the tooth. Once the filling is adapted in the exact shape of the tooth a specialised blue frequency light is brought into contact with the composite filling material. It is in the presence of this light for specific time composite filling which was soft in consistency becomes hard.

There is a special and very strong adhesive which is used on the floor of the cleaned cavity which bonds the composite filling to the tooth surface.

Composite fillings if done properly matches the shade of the tooth and cannot be differentiated from the natural tooth.

Occasionally, just a brighter looking smile is what few of our patients want, this helps in boosting their confidence when they talk or smile. At such times a procedure as simple as Teeth Whitening works.

Teeth Whitening is a chemical Process which whitens the basic shade of teeth from within and makes them appear whiter.

Whitening of teeth is a single appointment treatment solution which involves 2-3 cycles . We start with cleaning and polishing all the teeth involved in the smile line. A barrier film is applied onto the gums so as to prevent them from getting bleached. After protecting the gums, a bleaching agent is applied to the teeth. Depending on the degree of whitening required concentration of bleaching agent may differ. This bleaching agent is activated by a special frequency of ultraviolet light. Once the bleaching agent is activated, it starts penetrating the tooth enamel and reaches the second layer of tooth and starts whitening it. First cycle of whitening lasts for 35-40 minutes. After the first cycle if additional whitening is required, a second and third cycle can be performed.

When we are dealing with one or multiple missing front teeth, the option that best suits in the majority of the cases is a Dental Implant.

Dental Implant is a small titanium screw which acts as an artificial root to replace a missing tooth. It is placed in the jaw bone. If you have a missing tooth, then Dental Implant is a right solution as it’s a more sustainable and long term substitute to an absent natural tooth.

Aesthetic concerns related to Misaligned teeth can be corrected by undergoing Orthodontic Treatment. Commonly known as braces treatment is the most natural way of getting pearly teeth evenly aligned. Depending upon what suits you the best our doctors can suggest metal or ceramic braces. Our patients who wish to opt for orthodontic modality of correcting crooked teeth but don’t particularly wish metal or ceramic braces choose Invisible Braces. Clear Aligners are a set of invisible silicon aligners which help in moving teeth naturally.

Coming to the conclusion let be Smile Designing by any of the cosmetic options or Orthodontic way, a corrected smile can give you a lot of confidence and more reasons to flaunt your smile.
